Job Description

Chipton-Ross is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for a contract opportunity in Palmdale, CA.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

  • Must have an active secret clearance
  • 4+ years of recent experience AUTHORING Manufacturing assembly work instructions, including new instructions, modifications and reworks.
  • Aircraft sub-systems assembly and integration
  • Aircraft structures assembly
  • Hands-on production / shop floor support (Direct ownership and support of specific manufacturing operations as well as interface with touch-labor employees)
  • Reviews of engineering technical drawings and models
  • Manufacturing assembly work instruction authoring
  • Aircraft sub-systems assembly and integration

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs in a collaborative environment to develop and author manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, fabrication, and material handling.
  • Leverages understanding of materials and processes to define operations procedures and build sequences to drive operational excellence.
  • Evaluates performance of equipment and tools to verify their efficiency and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure operational excellence.
  • Provides input to product design regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.
  • Works within a model based engineering environment (3DX). Position requires periodic travel.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

  • PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) and ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) software proficiency
  • On vehicle testing and troubleshooting of aircraft sub-systems
  • Jet engine integration, service and maintenance familiarity
  • Wire harness and interconnect installation/ integration
  • Aircraft fuel systems
  • Development/ protype/ first article, program support (new product introduction)
  • Metallic part machining working knowledge
  • 3DX, Catia V5 and Delmia software usage
  • Evaluation of designs with respect to design for manufacturing and assembly (DFMA) considerations
  • Manufacturing assembly planning
  • Aviation Maintenance Experience, A & P license or similar
  • STEM type degree

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

Accredited HSd/GED
