Chipton-Ross is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for a contract opportunity in Palmdale, CA.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
- Must have an active secret clearance
- 4+ years of recent experience AUTHORING Manufacturing assembly work instructions, including new instructions, modifications and reworks.
- Aircraft sub-systems assembly and integration
- Aircraft structures assembly
- Hands-on production / shop floor support (Direct ownership and support of specific manufacturing operations as well as interface with touch-labor employees)
- Reviews of engineering technical drawings and models
- Manufacturing assembly work instruction authoring

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs in a collaborative environment to develop and author manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, fabrication, and material handling.
- Leverages understanding of materials and processes to define operations procedures and build sequences to drive operational excellence.
- Evaluates performance of equipment and tools to verify their efficiency and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure operational excellence.
- Provides input to product design regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.
- Works within a model based engineering environment (3DX). Position requires periodic travel.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
- PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) and ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) software proficiency
- On vehicle testing and troubleshooting of aircraft sub-systems
- Jet engine integration, service and maintenance familiarity
- Wire harness and interconnect installation/ integration
- Aircraft fuel systems
- Development/ protype/ first article, program support (new product introduction)
- Metallic part machining working knowledge
- 3DX, Catia V5 and Delmia software usage
- Evaluation of designs with respect to design for manufacturing and assembly (DFMA) considerations
- Manufacturing assembly planning
- Aviation Maintenance Experience, A & P license or similar
- STEM type degree
