Job Description
Description Visionality is seeking a AV Design Engineer to join our growing team and strengthen our existing staff. This role offers involvement in all aspects of the AV design process, including pre-sales, post-sales, and some commissioning. The role can be mostly remote with some work needing to be done at the main office or on site.
Requirements Key Responsibilities:
- Design medium to large-scale installed A/V solutions.
- Provide 90% pre-sales design and 10% commissioning support.
- Create comprehensive design/proposal packages, including quotes, scopes of work, and customer-centric drawings.
- Develop full drawing packages using established standards and tools.
- Offer escalated support for existing A/V systems.
Preferred Experience - Expertise in conferencing and collaboration systems, council/commission chambers, large-scale classrooms, and operations centers.
- Knowledge of major control/integrated switching vendors (Crestron, Kramer, QSC, Extron).
- Experience with leading audio systems vendors (Shure, Biamp, QSC).
- Familiarity with video wall and projection systems (Panasonic, NEC, Samsung, Epson, Planar).
- Understanding of AV over IP, HDBaseT, Dante, AVB, and other industry-standard transports.
- Experience with wired and wireless microphone technologies and permanently installed systems.
Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree is preferred, with strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.
- CTS certification required, CTS-D preferred
- Additional certifications such as DMC-E, DM-NVX, Biamp, Shure, Dante, QSC highly desirable.
- Familiarity with CAD software (Visio, Stardraw) and modern networking standards.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, meet strict deadlines, and travel 10-30% (mostly in-state).
- Must pass a background check at the local, state, and national levels.
