Job Description

Start your new career as a Boiler Operator with MAU at Milliken-Pendleton in Pendleton, SC. As a Boiler Operator, you will monitor, maintain, and service boiler room equipment to ensure optimal plant operations and regulatory compliance. This is a temp-to-hire opportunity.

  • 12-hour rotating shifts | 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM  OR 8:00 PM – 8:00 AM)
  • On-site position—no travel required
  • Training in other utility areas within the Pendleton plant
What We’re Looking For:
  • Two-year technical degree, accredited apprenticeship, or equivalent mechanical/electrical experience
  • Knowledge of boiler and steam systems operation
  • Ability to lift/move 50 lbs and operate industrial equipment (e.g., forklifts, loaders)
  • Proficiency with hand and power tools
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
  • Willingness to work 12-hour shifts and be on-call
  • General knowledge of building maintenance and utility systems (heat pumps, fire systems, compressors, etc.)
What You’ll Do as a Boiler Operator:
  • Operate, maintain, and monitor boilers, compressors, and auxiliary equipment
  • Conduct environmental inspections, reporting, and documentation per state, federal, and company policies
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
  • Perform minor electrical and mechanical repairs
  • Maintain records of equipment performance and service logs
  • Ensure continuous steam flow and effective sludge handling
  • Respond to equipment issues promptly to minimize downtime
  • Comply with all safety and environmental standards
  • Work independently in an isolated plant utility environment
