About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Estimator to join our team. The Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for projects, ensuring competitiveness and profitability while maintaining high-quality standards. This role requires strong analytical skills, industry knowledge, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Review project plans, specifications, and requirements to develop comprehensive cost estimates.
- Prepare detailed estimates covering labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
- Analyze project risks, constraints, and opportunities to ensure accurate forecasting.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, architects, and suppliers to gather cost-related information.
- Prepare and present bids, proposals, and cost breakdowns to management and clients.
- Maintain an updated database of cost information, material prices, and vendor/supplier contacts.
- Evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes for accuracy and competitiveness.
- Track project budgets and provide variance analysis against initial estimates.
- Stay current with market trends, cost drivers, and industry benchmarks.
Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience as an Estimator in [construction/manufacturing/engineering/other relevant industry].
- Strong understanding of cost estimation methodologies, financial modeling, and project management principles.
- Proficiency in estimation software (e.g., Bluebeam, PlanSwift, RSMeans, or industry-specific tools).
- Advanced Excel and data analysis skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in cost calculations.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
