Job Description

Bluegrass Orthopaedics (BGO) is seeking a full-time, hands-on Facilities Manager to oversee the maintenance, safety, and operational performance of multiple clinical and administrative locations.

Position: Facilities Manager

Department: Maintenance

Reports To: Sr. Vice President

FLSA Status: Exempt

 

Scope:

The Facilities Manager is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, safety, and operational functionality of all company facilities. This role ensures that our workspaces are safe, efficient, and well-maintained, while coordinating vendors, equipment, and maintenance projects.

 

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

 

Facilities Management:

· Maintain the physical spaces, ensuring a safe, clean, and functional environment.

· Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for building systems and equipment (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, etc.).

· Inspect facilities and equipment regularly, identifying repairs or maintenance needs.

· Oversee the day-to-day maintenance operations and coordinate work orders.

· Manage facility-related vendors and service contracts, including janitorial, HVAC, plumbing, and general maintenance.

· Maintain files for warranties, service agreements, licenses, inspections, and contracts.

· Maintain inventory, storage, and distribution of supplies for facilities and maintenance operations.

· Oversee a department budgets, estimating costs for repair projects, and tracking expenditures.

· Plan and oversee renovations, expansions, and relocation projects.

· Ensure compliance with OSHA, ADA, fire safety, and other regulatory standards.

· Participate in emergency preparedness planning and coordinate drills, evacuation plans, and disaster response.

 

Security Management:

· Oversee all security system software.

· Oversee all badging software.

· On-call for after-hours security-related incidents.

· Point of contact for all local law enforcement officials.

· First point of contact for security-related vendors.

· Review and maintain security footage and camera system.

· Visit all locations as needed.

 

Leadership & Supervision:

· Supervise and provide guidance to direct reports, ensuring responsibilities are fulfilled effectively.

· Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, and foster professional development for team members.

· Manage scheduling, workload distribution, and task prioritization for direct reports.

· Promote teamwork and collaboration within the department and across the organization

 

Qualifications & Supervision:  

· High School Diploma or equivalent required

· Trade School Certification or an Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.

· Minimum of three years’ experience in facilities management or building operations.

· Project management skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks.

· Knowledge of building systems including electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and general maintenance.

· Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

· Experience supervising staff and managing vendors.

· Ability to act quickly and make decisions in emergency situations.

· Valid driver’s license; ability to travel between multiple facility locations.

Physical Requirements:  

· Able to stand for long periods of time.

· Push/pull/pick-up 50 - 100 lbs.

· Visual acuity, hand-finger dexterity, ability to speak and hear.

· Ability to move between multiple facility locations as needed.

 

Schedule:  

Full-time, with variable hours depending on business needs
