Catholic Central High School, with 116 students, we are a college-preparatory high school committed to the formation of the whole person through faith, academics, athletics, and service, is seeking a passionate and experienced Head Cross Country Coach for the Fall 2025 season.
The Head Coach will lead our male and female student-athletes in a program that emphasizes personal growth, teamwork, sportsmanship, and competitive excellence in alignment with the school’s Catholic mission and values.
Responsibilities:
Plan and lead all practices, meets, and team events.
Foster a positive, faith-filled, and disciplined team culture rooted in Catholic values.
Provide instruction and development in physical training, race strategy, and mental preparation.
Collaborate with assistant coaches and athletic staff to support student-athlete success.
Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, and school administration.
Ensure compliance with school, league, and WIAA (or applicable governing body) regulations.
Serve as a role model and mentor to student-athletes on and off the course.
Prior coaching experience at the high school or collegiate level (head or assistant role preferred).
Strong knowledge of cross country training methods, safety, and competition strategy.
Ability to lead with integrity, fairness, and faith-based leadership.
Excellent communication, organizational, and motivational skills.
Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
Must complete Archdiocesan Safe Environment training and background check.
Commitment to upholding the mission and values of Catholic education.
Bachelor’s degree in education, kinesiology, or related field.
Experience working in a Catholic school setting or with youth ministry.
