Christian Hospital has a great opportunity for a Histotechnician I working in a full-time position. In this specialized role, you will work with a strong community of lab professionals in a hospital setting. Background in histology or lab expereince preferred.
- Day shift Mon-Friday (no weekends) 5:00am-13:30pm; 7:00am-3:30pm

Overview

Northwest HealthCare , six miles west of Christian, offers 24- hour emergency care, the Sleep Disorders Center and a variety of outpatient diagnostic and imaging services. Histology Laboratory performs a wide variety of routine histotechnologic procedures & histochemical stains. Our Immunohistochemistry area performs over 100 antibodies on both tissue sections & cytology specimens.
Preferred Qualifications
Role Purpose Responsible for providing a variety of basic routine tests and procedures on tissue and related surgical specimens submitted for histological examination.
Responsibilities Tasks limited to microtomy, embedding, staining. Performs and documents quality controls for all equipment and troubleshoots malfunctioning instrumentation as necessary.
Understands maintenance, troubleshooting and operation of all instrumentation in assigned areas. Has minimal understanding of test principles.
Minimum Requirements Education High School Diploma or GED
Experience <2 years
Preferred Requirements Education Associate's Degree
Experience 2-5 years
