HVAC Technician-2 openings

Shifts:
1st Shift | Sunday-Wednesday
Hours: 6:00 AM-4:30 PM 
2nd Shift | Tuesday – Saturday
Hours: 12:00 PM(noon)– 8:30 PM
Pay Range (FTE): $45 – $48/hr
Type: Contract-to-Hire
License Requirement: Must hold a valid Massachusetts Refrigeration License

As an HVAC Technician, you’ll be responsible for maintaining and repairing systems that ensure safe, compliant, and efficient building performance. Whether responding to system alarms or performing preventive maintenance on critical infrastructure, your work will make a measurable difference every day.

What You’ll Do

  • Respond to and log equipment alarms and maintenance requests using the CMMS system.

  • Diagnose and correct alarm conditions during your shift—owning the resolution process, especially while on-call.

  • Monitor, operate, and make adjustments to a wide range of systems including:

    • HVAC, refrigeration, chilled water, boilers, and hot water systems

    • Centrifugal chillers, cooling towers, VAV systems, emergency backup systems

    • Pumps, valves, piping, heat exchangers, and related electrical/mechanical equipment

  • Analyze system operations, identify issues, and perform corrective action as needed.

  • Communicate equipment status and any critical issues to management promptly.

  • Complete preventive maintenance tasks to minimize downtime and maintain efficiency.

  • Install, repair, or rebuild HVAC units, motors, water heaters, mini-splits, actuators, and compressors.

  • Support other technicians on major repairs and system overhauls.

  • Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance work, labor, and materials used.

  • Adhere to safety policies for handling hazardous materials and working in potentially hazardous conditions.

  • Support compliance with JLL’s Environmental, Social, and Compliance Program (ESCP) audits.

What You Bring

  • High school diploma or state-equivalent required

  • 2 years of relevant trade school or equivalent training

  • Valid Massachusetts Refrigeration License (Required)

  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with HVAC and refrigeration systems

  • Working knowledge of refrigeration systems (walk-in coolers, ice machines, etc.)

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and maintenance tracking systems (CMMS)

  • Strong communication skills—both written and verbal

  • Understanding of OSHA standards and applicable local building codes

  • Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces or on rooftops

  • Willingness to be part of the rotating on-call team
