Job Title: ISO 55001 Internal Auditor

Location: Oakland, CA (OGO)

Department: Risk & Compliance

Employment Type: Contract / Project-Based (4-month engagement)

Overview:

We are seeking an experienced ISO 55001 Internal Auditor to conduct a comprehensive audit of the organization’s Asset Management System (AMS) to ensure compliance with ISO 55001 standards and PG&E internal requirements. This high-priority role will support audit execution, certification readiness, and continuous improvement initiatives over a 4-month project period.

Key Responsibilities:

Audit Planning & Execution:

  • Develop and maintain an internal audit schedule aligned with ISO 55001 requirements.
  • Conduct audits across clauses such as 9.2 Internal Audit and 10.2 Preventive Action .
  • Perform interviews, documentation reviews, and collect evidence of compliance.

Compliance & Documentation:

  • Verify that AMS documentation meets ISO 55001 conformity requirements.
  • Prepare detailed audit reports summarizing findings, nonconformities, and improvement opportunities.
  • Ensure audit evidence aligns with established processes and policies.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Collaborate with ISO Clause Owners and functional teams to address audit findings.
  • Provide guidance and coaching on ISO 55001 expectations and requirements.
  • Support pre-certification and readiness assessments.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Recommend corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Participate in surveillance and recertification audits.
  • Contribute to the enhancement of business processes and AMS documentation.

Required Qualifications:

  • In-depth knowledge of ISO 55001 standards and asset management principles .
  • Proven experience in internal auditing within asset management or compliance environments.
  • Understanding of the Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) methodology.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and report-writing skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • ISO 55001 Lead Auditor Certification (or equivalent).
  • IAM Certificate or other asset management certification.
  • Experience with audit management tools or digital evidence repositories.
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance and enterprise risk management .
