Electronics Lab Technician – Power Electronics Focus (North Carolina)
Join a dynamic engineering team nestled in the scenic mountains of North Carolina! We’re looking for a talented Electronics Laboratory Technician with a background in Electrical Engineering Technology to support the development and testing of cutting-edge power electronics systems. This role plays a key part in advancing energy-efficient solutions for both high and low power applications.
What You’ll Do
You’ll work hands-on with prototype systems, helping to troubleshoot, program, and validate embedded firmware and hardware for power conversion technologies. Your responsibilities will include:
- Designing and executing test plans for electronic systems.
- Building and maintaining custom test fixtures.
- Operating and calibrating lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, and EMI testing tools.
- Interpreting schematics and diagnosing circuit-level issues.
- Collaborating across engineering, manufacturing, and support teams to refine product performance.
- Documenting test procedures and results, and preparing technical reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Developing automated test systems using LabVIEW and other tools.
- Supporting the repair and maintenance of electronic systems.

You’re a self-driven technician with a passion for electronics and problem-solving. You thrive in collaborative environments and bring a strong foundation in power conversion technologies and embedded systems.
Preferred Experience & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or a related field.
- 3+ years in a technical lab or electronics testing role.
- Solid understanding of AC/DC and DC/DC power conversion, especially in defense or aerospace applications.
- Experience with EMI testing and lab instrumentation.
- Skilled in LabVIEW, Python, and MATLAB for test automation and data analysis.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical drawings.
- Familiarity with industry standards such as UL and IEC.
