Description Medical Scribe Job Description: The medical scribe records the patient visit while the provider is performing exam/procedure or discussion with the patient. This position follows the physician schedule and must demonstrate flexibility on hours and days. The position will rotate between Monday through Friday and 8:00 am-5:00 pm but is dependent on physician schedule. Total hours will be between 24-28 weekly. This is a perfect position for someone preparing or taking college courses online and interested in working in the healthcare industry. This is a non-benefitted position.
- Assist physician by providing recording/dictating services while the provider is seeing patients in the office/exam room setting.
- Records the notes from the services provided and prepares documentation for physician’s review and approval.
- Utilize EHR system for all documentation.
- Familiar with EHR system is a plus.
- Must be able to transcribe up to 60 words per minute
- Must demonstrate accuracy
- Demonstrates flexibility and responsiveness in handling all customer interactions.
- Performs all other duties as may be assigned from time-to-time.
