Position Summary:Shasta Regional Medical Center is seeking an attentive and detail-oriented Monitor Technician to join our Per Diem Telemetry team . The Monitor Tech is responsible for continuous observation of cardiac rhythms, recognition of dysrhythmias, and prompt communication of rhythm changes to the nursing and medical staff to ensure patient safety.
Key Responsibilities:Continuously observe and interpret cardiac rhythms on multiple telemetry monitors.
Recognize and report arrhythmias and abnormal heart rhythms to the appropriate nursing personnel.
Document rhythm strips, rate, and rhythm changes in accordance with hospital policy.
Maintain accurate monitor logs and ensure all equipment is functioning properly.
Assist nursing staff in placing and verifying telemetry leads and transmitters.
Respond promptly to telemetry alarms and follow established escalation protocols.
Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to hospital safety and infection-control standards.
High School Diploma or equivalent required
BLS (AHA) certification required
Completion of a Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia Recognition Course or equivalent hospital training required
Minimum 2 years of recent hospital monitor tech or telemetry experience required per company policy
Knowledge of basic cardiac physiology and EKG interpretation required
