Compensation: $120–$130 per hour
We are seeking an experienced Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) or Psychiatrist to provide comprehensive mental health care to residents in a long-term care environment. The provider will deliver psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and ongoing support for residents with psychiatric, Alzheimer’s, or dementia diagnoses.
Key Responsibilities:Provide psychiatric assessments, treatment, and ongoing management for residents with mental health conditions.
Conduct evaluations for all new admissions presenting with psychiatric diagnoses or on psychotropic medications.
See all residents with psychiatric, Alzheimer’s, or dementia diagnoses at least annually.
Offer grief counseling and emotional support for residents and staff as needed.
Utilize the facility’s EMR system (e.g., Sigma Care or equivalent) for documentation and order entry.
Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations governing psychiatric care in long-term care settings.
Coordinate with facility leadership regarding schedule changes, vacation coverage, or changes in service delivery.
Collaborate with nursing and administrative staff to ensure optimal resident care and medication management.
Review and document psychotropic medication titration efforts at least twice per year, including rationale for maintaining or adjusting doses.
Participate in interdisciplinary care planning and maintain accurate clinical documentation.
Bill appropriately to Medicare, Medicaid, managed care organizations, or other third-party payers in compliance with all applicable regulations.
Active New Jersey license as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) or Psychiatrist (required).
Minimum 1 year of experience providing psychiatric care in a skilled nursing, long-term care, or similar setting preferred.
Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and treatment planning skills.
Familiarity with EMR systems (preferably Sigma Care).
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and documentation abilities.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
