Work Schedule: Full-time
Salary Range: $70,000–$80,000 per year

Position Summary

The Safety Coordinator plays a key role in expanding E&K’s Safety Department to enhance jobsite safety representation, compliance, and oversight. This individual develops, implements, and enforces comprehensive safety programs to ensure a safe and compliant work environment on construction projects. The position includes leading new hire orientations, conducting regular jobsite visits, and fostering strong relationships with field personnel to promote a proactive safety culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular jobsite safety walks and audits to identify and correct potential hazards.

  • Develop and review Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) to ensure compliance with OSHA 1926 construction standards.

  • Lead and facilitate New Hire Safety Orientations and ongoing safety training sessions.

  • Provide site safety supervision and support across multiple active projects.

  • Build strong relationships with foremen and field leaders to reinforce the company’s safety-first culture.

  • Assess worksite hazards and implement effective solutions and preventive measures.

  • Assist in incident and accident investigations , ensuring accurate reporting and follow-up corrective actions.

  • Promote a positive, compliant, and proactive approach to jobsite safety and health.

Qualifications

Required Experience:

  • 2–5 years of experience in construction or industrial safety.

  • Working knowledge of OSHA 1926 Construction Safety Standards .

Preferred Experience:

  • Background in general industry or large-scale construction environments.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety or related field or equivalent of 5 years’ experience in the industry.

Certifications/Licenses:

  • OSHA 30-hour Construction certification (required).

  • First Aid/CPR certification (preferred).

  • CHST certification (preferred).

  • Valid driver’s license , auto insurance , and ability to travel regionally.

  • Scaffold Erector certification a plus.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish (required).

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to coach, influence, and work effectively with diverse teams.

  • Comfortable performing physically demanding tasks and spending extended time on jobsites.
