Description

Candidate must be able to effectively manage a 50,000 square foot facility and oversee the workflow of 10 employees. This is a fast-paced environment. It’s essential to have a “can do” attitude and able to multitask.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Setting standards, goals, and schedules based on labor availability, and workload.
  • Overseeing picking, shipping and receiving to ensure that schedules are met.
  • Organizing the warehouse to maximize efficiency and control waste.
  • Maintaining standards of health and safety, hygiene and security.
  • Assure that a safe work environment is maintained, and employees follow safety procedures.
  • Coordinate warehouse activities with Inventory, and Operations Managers.
  • Hire, train, and evaluate warehouse workers; monitor workers to ensure they meet performance and safety requirements.
  • Identify and utilize methods in the warehouse process to become more efficient and effective (reducing waste, using Lean).
  • Direct corrective actions of any warehouse problems that may arise; work with Operations Managers / Directors in development and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Liaise with suppliers and transport companies.
  • Plan / determine optimal utilization of warehouse workers and equipment to meet company goals. Keeping a clean and organized warehouse.
  • Schedule department staff to maximize efficiency.
  • Perform yearly evaluations for direct reports.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Keep records of employees' attendance and hours worked.

Requirements

  • Strong decision making and problem-solving skills.
  • 5-8 years of successful hands-on experience in warehouse operations in a lead or supervisory capacity.
  • Leadership skills and ability to manage staff.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Able to perform well under pressure.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt quickly to shifting priorities
  • Computer and internet fluency.
  • Must pass background check and drug screening requirements.
  • Hands on experience with warehouse management software and databases.
  • Must be able to have manual dexterity to operate equipment and tools required on the job.
  • Ability to stand continuously for long periods of time.
  • Able to lift-up to 75Ibs

Education

  • High School education or equivalent.
  • Associates degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school preferred.

Work Environment

The performance of this position may occasionally require exposure to areas that require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields and mandatory hearing protection.

  • Wearing safety clothing and equipment may at times be required.
